Terms of Use

Last updated: September 29, 2026

These Terms are an agreement between you and Verse Labs LLC ("Circa", "we", "us"). They cover the Circa app at app.connectwithcirca.com and our site at connectwithcirca.com. By using Circa, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Circa.

1. What Circa is

Circa helps students find, create, and RSVP to events at their school. Some events come from students and clubs. Some come from outside sources, such as public event listings. We show them in one place. We do not run, host, or sponsor events unless we say so.

2. Who can use Circa

  • You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission.
  • To get an account, you need a working school email address. Your account is tied to that school.
  • One person, one account. Do not share your account or sign in as someone else.

3. Your account

We sign you in with a one-time code sent to your school email. Keep access to that inbox secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@connectwithcirca.com if you think someone else is using it.

4. Your content

"Your content" means anything you add to Circa: events, event images, comments, your profile (name, photo, bio, major, graduation year, and interests), and your RSVPs.

  • You own your content. We do not claim it.
  • You give us a limited license to run Circa with it. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, store, copy, resize, and display your content only to operate, improve, and promote Circa inside the product. We do not sell your content or license it to others. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep for legal reasons or that are in routine backups for a short time.
  • Who sees it. Events, comments, RSVPs, and your name and photo are visible to other signed-in students at your school. Public event pages can be seen by anyone with the link. Our Privacy Policy has the details. Do not post anything you would not want your campus to see.
  • You have the rights to what you post. Only post content you created or have permission to use. That includes photos and flyers.

5. Rules for using Circa

Do not use Circa to:

  • Harass, bully, threaten, or impersonate anyone.
  • Post hate speech, sexual content involving minors, or content that promotes violence or self-harm.
  • Post fake, misleading, or spam events, or events for illegal activity.
  • Sell or advertise things unrelated to an event.
  • Share someone else's personal information without their permission.
  • Post content that infringes someone's copyright, trademark, or other rights.
  • Scrape, copy, or collect data from Circa by automated means.
  • Access restricted areas, test our security without permission, or interfere with the service.

6. Reports, removal, and suspension

You can report an event or comment in the app. We review reports and may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or put people at risk. We may do this without notice when safety requires it. Otherwise, we will try to tell you why. If you think we made a mistake, email support@connectwithcirca.com.

We do not review every post before it appears, and we are not responsible for content other users post.

7. Copyright complaints

If you believe content on Circa infringes your copyright, email support@connectwithcirca.com with: your contact information, the work you believe is infringed, the link to the content on Circa, a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized, and a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorized to act for the owner, and your physical or electronic signature. We remove infringing content and close the accounts of repeat infringers.

Our designated copyright agent is Verse Labs LLC, 123 W. Madison St., Ste. 800, Chicago, IL 60603, reachable at support@connectwithcirca.com. Our agent is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office under registration number DMCA-1081467.

8. Events happen in the real world

Events on Circa are run by the people and groups who post them, not by Circa. We do not check organizers, venues, or event details, and we cannot promise an event will happen as described. Use your own judgment. Confirm details with the organizer, go with friends, and follow your school's rules. Circa is not responsible for what happens at any event, or for any dispute between you and an organizer or other attendee.

9. Our part of Circa

The Circa name, logo, design, and software belong to us. These Terms do not give you any rights to them beyond using Circa as intended. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.

10. Closing your account

You can stop using Circa at any time. To delete your account, email support@connectwithcirca.com from your school email address. We delete your account and your content as described in our Privacy Policy. We may close or suspend accounts as described in section 6, or stop offering Circa at a school or entirely. Sections 8, 9, 11, 12, and 13 continue after your account closes.

11. No warranty

Circa is free and provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise Circa will be accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free.

12. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Circa is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of Circa or any event you find through it. Our total liability for any claim about Circa is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

13. Disputes

If you have a problem with Circa, email support@connectwithcirca.com first. Most issues get fixed that way. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any legal claim must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. You may still bring a claim in small claims court where you live if it qualifies.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Circa after the change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
